课程信息如下:

课程名称: Seminar1:servant leadership

课程教师团队:Russell A Frank主持的四人教师团队,拥有几十年的商业\管理\产业经验。

Russell A Frank2002-2015年就职于Angel House,  International Friends,担任Co-Founder, and TLC,LLC,孵化三个非盈利初创企业。1988-2015年就职于Russell Metals Corporation,担任President。教育背景:管理与金融等。

Robert Mao,目前就职于Ally Financial Inc.,担任Technical Delivery Manager。教育背景:计算机科学方向。

Ronald O. Geer,目前就职于WyandotteDispersions &Resins, MI,担任Operations Director。教育背景:化学工程、工程管理。

Ron Ingram,目前就职于Illinois Institute of Technology and University of Illinois Chicago,担任Director of Outreach to International Students and Scholars。教育背景:心理学、人力资源等。  

课程描述:

The course is designed to provide professionals with a broad understanding of leadership concepts, theories and the skills necessary for practicing leadership in the global economy. The course focuses on a variety of techniques/applications for assessing leadership competencies and generating actions plans for applying leadership skills. The course emphasis is on the requirements and personal leadership skills.

Each session will be taught by successful business professionals; Their knowledge and experience will provide a foundation for leadership and a successful career. We will use actual case studies that address the behaviors, traits and principles that work together in forming a successful leaders in the Global Community.

课程目标:

1\Evaluate and analyze contemporary leadership theories and demonstrate how the key concepts and models are used by leaders in apposite situations.

2\Analyze your role in contributing to effective leadership using a number of newly acquired understandings, approaches, and skills.

3\ Employ improved communication skills including interpersonal skills, the ability to listen more effectively, to present one`s ideas effectively to others, to influence others, and to engage in collective learning through teamwork.

4\Utilize a variety of leadership concepts/insights that apply to worksituation in organizational settings.

课程中将包含面试(Leadership Interview)、自传(Leadership Resume)、案例学习(Case Study)、小组合作项目等环节的训练。

课程团队在每次课前安排一定时间与同学自由交流并共进午/晚餐,以促进相互理解,在较为轻松的交流环境下更好达到课程目标。  

选课提示:

      已修过全英文系列研讨课但对本课程有兴趣的同学也可修读,不列入教授考核名单,请勿从选课系统抢课;在正式开课之前向课外研学秘书李媛老师报名,全程参加课程并向学院提交研学报告,可获得课外研学0.5-1学分。
